Default Not sure were to start

Ok so when my trolling motor went down I changed it out with a older back up...only thing is the back up was 12 volt and the other was 24 volt..Now i bought a 24 volt brand new MinnKota and I'm having trouble getting it to run on 24 volt.

Sounds crazy I know but I thought I would be able to just change back the wires and bam 24 volts again anyway I'm puzzled right now !!

any thoughts are welcome

Later Will

there should be a wireing diagram with the motor
my motor guide has 2-12 wires running to the front and the plug turns it to 24 volt I burned a plug up learning this

Get a volt meter to verify. If the charger is directly connected to battery's it should be fine also.
