Default taxes

As you may notice on the upcoming weeks your paycheck will have 15 or more bucks in it each week. This means more disposable income each week, but on the other hand it means less that will be expected on tax returns. If you count on income tax returns to pay bills (I do for property taxes), you may want to set up a savings acct to have this extra money put in, or get with your payroll person at work and have a W-4 form to have more money taken out..
Just a heads up for us that need that return each year to pay off bills, and dont be surprised if the amount is a lot less...I expect 16 a week times 52 weeks LESS in taxes withheld for this year, some will see variances on this amount, higher or lower.

Good advice JB. For those who are W-2 employees, you can choose to have that money taken out for taxes if you want. There is an option to have additional funds held back if you want to.

I'd prefer to get more back each month since I'm still waiting on my refund. I already got about $25 more on 4/1/09.

I would just like to add that whoever is in charge of creating the tax code and the 1040 form is an idiot. Won't get my refund back for another 6-8 weeks because the IRS wants me to fill out another form to confirm that I spent $573 on a college course last year. But they already have that information, sent to them from the University, and the form I have to fill out just repeats what is found on the 1040. Absolutely nothing new. STUPID IRS.

Sorry, had to rant.
