Okay now I feel twice as wrong.
I just read all the posts about bassboss and the young factor, my original drunk stupid post that almost had me black mailed, was in fact fueled from posts by posts by very young posters. I read there profile and saw there age, and in my state of closing my store and the years I spent creating it, made me feel outraged. Glad to see others on here with our age and experience see why young posters with little knowledge are just out for a popularity contest and should read and learn more then post.

Young age doesn't necessarily mean lack of experience in all cases, days on the water have no equal.

You are a truly wise man in the tradition of the great philosopher Socrates.

bassinId, true but if your 15 years old and been fishing for two years and spent four or five days a week fishing thats some time on the water. Which in what you said and I makes up knowledge, fact is I'm 42 and have been bass fishing since I was 13 and for the most part spent 3,4,5 days on the water. Your logic says in your two years ( or what ever age you start at ) you have learned what I have in 40, us being on the same pace as far as time on the water. I think the progression of time on the water should keep growing if you have any chance of becoming a better fisherman. Do you not think you will get better as you age ?

I didn't mean to bash your opinion CCbass, I respect that you have had a lot of time on the water and probably have forgotten more than I know about bass fishing, I just didn't want every young angler to be grouped into that "posting for popularity category"

I normally stay clear of these type threads
Quote:
But felt the need to post..your pulling old post out to confront a statement made about your age..yet i notice in a recent post a very upset poster starting a new thread simply because his thread was no replied to..This sounds child like to me. I will say this is well I respect younger people than myself and wish more young people fished..then the world might not be so screwed up with kids playing video games and doing God know whats else. PUT THE GAME CONTROLER DOWN GET A ROD GO FISH... PS BassBandit I know grown men in their 50's that just started fishing for whatever reason but there still not mad they started late..No body likes a whiner I think you will be one heck a fisherman not only for your contributions to this forum but for the simply fact you can;t hang around something all the time and not learn Later if you feelings are hurt from this post I'm sorry..don't go hacking my e-mail and and loading viruses on my PC |

Bingham, I'm leaning towards BassinID's side on this one. Yes, he does have a lot of posts per day, he is young, he is new. BUT, his posts all have a point to them. He's asking questions, offering a little advice, etc. I've got no problem with that.
However, I will say this, to BassinID and to anybody else...the "Search" button is your friend. With as long as this board has been up, there is an absolute TON of info available. If you're asking about the new reel that company X is releasing for 2009, of course you'll have to open a new thread. But for "What should I fish in stained water, 65 degrees, cover is lily pads and some grass," I can pretty much guarantee that's been covered, probably 5-6 times in the past year. So a lot of posts per day is not necessarily a bad thing, it just shows eagerness and excitement. I'm in on that, as long as the posts have good content and actually communicate something.
