Awesome weekend
So besides the arbitrary trip to the Land Big Fish store for some new tackle, after fishing and getting skunked Thursday, we headed out on Saturday afternoon for some serious fishing. I ended up losing more fish than I care to share. However, I did land a nice 4 lb. Walleye and a decent 2.5-3 lb. LM. Then today I get on bass tackle depot and see that they have the 2 crucial rods I have been eyeing on sale for $120 and I had a coupon code. I ordered a 7' crankin rod and a 6'6'' MH for my spinner baits. All in all it was a great weekend.

Forgot to mention I caught that walleye in 2 feet of water on an Excalibur rattle trap.

Nice walleye, didn't know you could get em in such shallow water like that.
How'd it taste!

Way to go Z Man!!! Beautiful walleye. Man that is gonna be fine tablefare. I read once about fishing for walleyes in shallow weed beds after dark between 4-10 foot of water. I KNOW your gonna love those Crucial rods. Congrats

Keith, I love the crucial rods so much that I ordered 2 more of the old style while I could get them and they were only 100 bucks. I got a sneak peek at the new ones and im not impressed at all. The foam handles and the reel seat just looks and feels cheap. The blank might be better, but I like the old style. I ordered another 6'6'' MH for spinner baits and a 7' cranking rod. I wanted a 7' MH, but they are gone like the wind. Shimano doesnt have a single one left.
As far as eating the walleye, not so much. Just after this pic was taken he decided he had enough picture takin' ripped himself outta my hand, onto the deck and into the water.

Congrats on a great weekend, the only thing that would have made it better is if you would have got to eat that walleye because they are awesome eating. I catch several walleyes by accident while bass or crappie fishing and probably 90% of them are caught in less than 5 feet of water.

Congrats on rebounding from the Thursday skunking by catching some fish on Saturday and ordering some more gear, Z-Man!

Thanks guys! Im so stoked... I found a 7' MH Crucial locally, so I canceled the order for the 6'6'' rod. Still have the 7' M cranking rod coming. Now I need a Curado 210E5 and E7 for the new rods and I will be ready to roll
