Default Big Old Snakehead Report

After last nights tough fishing I decided to pull some old tricks out of my tackle box and it worked. A good 20 LGMouth fell for it. I sighted a big snakehead slide into a hole and I slid a horny toad over him once and then twice and he went for it. Got him turned with the help of 40lb braid and heavy rod. The fight was epic. But the best part is when he leaped out of the live well twice after we cut his gills out and almost bit the young man.. If only you could have seen his face when this monster came at him..priceless.

Those snakeheads are getting BIG. Have you eaten any yet? I'm interested in hearing how they taste done on the grill or other methods.

Nice fish, Capt. Good bounce-back from the prior night's tough fishing!

Best in oil I find. Tempura or panko crusted. Grilled is good but smoked is heaven.. mmm.. smoked with a bit of Tony Cachere on it..

I think the picture does not convey the size. 30 inches long and 17 lbs.

And young man who almost pissed his pants. TWICE..

Not yet. You could probably introduce them to your home waters, though...

Thanks for the tip. Putting that one away for later use!!! Took 6lb snakeheads to win the bounty. Biggest I could catch was 3.5 but saw bigger. Got a great snakehead story with pics to show. Might be a couple days before I can post some pics. Also found some quality specks today too. Got pics of them too.
