SAD -- bowling career is over

34 years in a row I've bowled in at least 1 league until tonite. 1st night of the season and I'm not there and that sucks, I miss it all ready. It's hard to give up something you love doing and doing it for so long.

I've already sent a text message to see how they done. I'll go watch them next Wed.

I sympathize with you Lash, I played Men's competitive softball for almost 30 years, but after 4 knee and 3 shoulder surgeries as well as a nasty ankle break, I had to give it up. Tough thing to do, but had to do it for my health. Just keep thinking about all the extra time you have to be fishing now. Won't be long before you and the ol bait monkey become real tight with each other.

I played softball for a lot years also. It took me awile to get over that. If I go watch a game now I still get the urge.

You dont know me but in the last year I've read a lot of your posts. I hate to hear anyone half to give up anything they love and my quess is you were pretty good. With that said, even thou it dosn't make it any easier ( it sux) I can assure they are missing you more!

It sucks you hung up the Dexters. I bowled in a few leagues for a few years and although I wasn't ever that good I did enjoy it.

Maybe this post helps explain the Brett Favre situation. It's hard to walk away from an activity you love. I'm sorry to hear about how your having to give up bowling after loving the sport for so many years pal. It will be tough to cheer them on from the sidelines so to speak, but at least you will still be able to be involved. I'm sure it will take time, but you"ll adjust.

Sorry, Ron. I know how you feel. I had a hard time coming to grips with giving up golf. My outlet? Buying a boat and enough fishing tackle for 10 men. Hey, whatever works, my friend.
