High Water, Cold weather bass

Not sure if this has already been posted but I used the search feature and found nothing...
Here in Western Illinois we just had a bunch of rain so I decided that I might go and try to catch some fish after the rains stops. There is a grassy slope that is adjacent to deep water which might be flooded. Any of you have any suggestions as to how to fish high water which is probably relatively cold, guessing low 50's right after alot of rain?

when did we get that rain? oh wait ur in the western right now lol we only had a lil bit over here last night, goin to lake of the woods tonite.

stik baits, deadsticked. the bass will almost ALWAYS move up in to newly flooded area when it becomes available.

ic senkos is what your referring to right? Do you throw them weightless or not?

yes, that way when you let it settle the weight doesnt pull it down through the grass. It just sits up on whatever it encounters first.

I fished a very cold, muddy, high water, tiny pond that's loaded with bass and it took all day to get one,. I tried senkos and black/blue jigs, but I finally got one on a green Stanley Jig with a craw trailer and got a 2 pounder. Of course I hung it in the laydown on the next cast.
