Sweet Beaver Retrieves
I give the bait three violent hops then let it fall to the bottom on a slack then repeat or I shake on a semi slack line this bait. How do you guys usually retrieve and what actions do you give this bait. There probably is a better way than what I am doing but I have caught some 6lbers this year on that bait since I got a pack in August.

Well I fish alluringbaits.com so it is more of a crawfish rather then creature. I will usually drag it. If it is sand bottom I will add rattles. The bait is a really good pitching and flipping lure

Same way I work all craw type baits, either quick hops, or dragging it, but some where close to the bottom, ans occasionally shaking them. I usually use them for pitching cover, so not a lot of actually working them after the first movement or 2.

I just read what I think to be a good presentation. Cast weightless, let fall to bottom and wait 30 seconds.....then lift SLOWLY up off bottom two feet to feel for fish.....if nothing on when slowly lifting, at the top of the lift give a flick of the wrist to yank the rod tip up quickly about 8 to 12 inches, then let fall again to rest on bottom for another 30 seconds......during this pause, reel in slack, still leaving a little bow in the line...not moving the bait......repeat this process until near the boat.
