Taking bass to far??
Ok I did a post about what’s so special about bass? This question is more direct. My wife says I have a number of traits that if she didn’t know better she’d think something was wrong with me. The reeling in my sleep, the way I like the smell of bang, and the listening to fishing podcasts in the shower. But the one thing I do that makes even myself wonder is whenever I’m walking up to building, friend’s house, Outback’s, or whatever I always take a few minutes to imagine the area under water. I’m looking at what bush I would pitch to, whether that hump would hold fish, or whether that brush pile is too tight to hold bass. My wife ask what I’m doing she thinks I have some type of superstition about walking into a building……I haven’t told her the truth yet…..probably won’t.

Uh if you fellas actually get out more and actually fish those mudholes ,you will dream less about them.Or have something to add to them in a form of a lunker.
I hesitate to think what cabin fever and winter doldrums might add to this,at a later time. MU We are Marshall |

hahaha, I can kinda relate. I once had a dream I was grociery shopping at the grociery store when I decided to do some fishing. Soooo, in my dream mind you, I started casting under the vedgie displays, working my baits around the ends of isles, along shopping carts and so forth. Hey, just maybe...... Nahhhh.

Hey CB Sounds like what's commonly referred to as an OCD in the psych world. Don't sweat it. I spent a lot of time driving around what is now twenty feet under the surface of lake Oconee Ga. You never know when that obsession might come in handy. It has for me.

Unless Florida has repealed the Baker Act, don't let her anywhere close to this site.

Unfortunately I've read your post and it looks like you've caught it......Bass Fever. And you've got it bad. Please read the following information that I found on the Mayo Clinic website......
Symptoms By Mayo Clinic staff You have bass fever when your lack of control of the fishing impulse rises above its normal range. What's normal for you may be a little higher or lower than the average fisherman. Depending on what's causing your bass fever, additional bass fever signs and symptoms may include: • Sweating when you haven’t made a cast in over 24 hours • Shivering when you imagine that you feel a strike • Headache when away from the water for more than 24 hours • Muscle aches due to repetitive practice casts in the backyard • Loss of appetite – no explanation needed • Dehydration from not drinking • General weakness from not eating Serious bass fever may cause: • Hallucinations • Confusion • Irritability • Convulsions • Dehydration When to see a doctor Bass Fever by itself may not be a cause for alarm — or a reason to call a doctor. Yet there are some circumstances when you should seek medical advice from a therapist or psychologist. In addition, seek immediate medical attention if any of these signs or symptoms accompanies your bass fever: • Severe headache • Severe throat swelling • Unusual skin rash, especially if the rash rapidly worsens • Unusual sensitivity to bright light • Stiff neck and pain when you bend your head forward • Mental confusion • Persistent vomiting • Difficulty breathing or chest pain • Extreme listlessness or irritability • Abdominal pain or pain when urinating • Any other unexplained signs or symptoms I hope this helps. There are support groups available at Bassfishin.com. Ask for Dr. John Seaver.....he'll be a great help. |

I've spoken with Doc Seaver and he says that attending flea markets, watching college football, and eating bbq can help ease the fever. You may want to call him......

You are not alone brother and you're probably in good company here. I even do that when driving as I look at the foliage.
