Default In need of psychiatric help!!!

I actually let my brother talk me into heading out early tomorrow to do some fishing before sunrise. The forcast is for clear and cold with temps in the low 30's. We must be out of our minds!

Naw youre ok. Its gonna be a lot colder in 2 months and you will miss such mornings then.

Im not entirely certain that bass get ready for winter by gorging. But I am certain that some bass fisherman get ready for winter by going as much as possible in fall.

At least you're not one of the crazy guys that head when there's ice on the lake, and it's all about water temp.

You never know until you go. Best big fish day I've ever had in Kansas was on a February day that never got above freezing.

Very rare do I make a trip and later feel I wish I hadn’t gone……it’s usually the other way around.

Yes I did, caught this guy early on a One Knocker Spook in a G finish Foxy Shad I just bought 2 days ago. Those Spooks that rattle really seem to work great. I've been using the smaller verson Super Spook Jr for a couple years now and liked it so much I went for the larger version. This bass weight 4.8 pounds on my scale and was 20 1/4" long. I only caught two today. The other was 3 1/2 pounds also caught on the same Spook. That was it, but it made for a nice morning out. After the sun rose above the tree tops, the bite completely died. Might get out a couple times yet before calling it a year in the books. The air temp was 34 degrees and I don't know what the water temp was. But I do know this...the water was much colder than a week ago with the gail force winds and plummeting temps the past several days, not to mention the 3 inches of cold rain we got. The bass were in weed beds in 12 foot of water. Anyways, I hope Bama and Daniel along with their wives have some pics to post after next week!!! Time for a cold beer and some football!

Glad you went Keith. Cold mornings like this tend to bother us more than the fish. That is a pig you caught too.

I only got one today. But it was another nice one. Lousy picture as I was by myself today so had to use my cell phone, but it weighted 4.9 pounds on my scale. Caught this one about 5 minutes after hitting the water. Then the brite sunshine came out and the lake was like glass all morning. Couldn't rouse a single hit after that. But it sure beats going to work. haha

Those are awesome fish, Keith -- way to go! Our boat is winterized and stored for the winter, but there's a slight chance I might get down to IA for some shore fishing with my dad before the white stuff starts to fly.
