Question about the spawn

I am aware that bass start coming to shallower waters and begin spawning when the water stays a consistent 55-60 degrees. My question is, what is consistent? As in, how many days does it need to stay in that 55-60 degree range for them to begin spawning, and how much does the moon phase affect the spawn?

MrB29 Down here it seems best for water to stay within a 4-5 degree range for about 6 or 7 days. This time of year you really need to stay on top of the conditions at your favorite lake/pond. I have 6 local places in "rotation" the bass are "LOCKED" on beds in 4 of them and very close on the other 2. The water temps in the 4 range from 63 to 67 (noon readings). Looking at last years log those same 4 lakes didn't get "HOT" until April 5th. I'm convinced the moon plays a lot bigger part in the bluegill spawn than the bass.

The whole process can last as little as 5-10 days or as long as 2-3 weeks. If you pay close attention you can tell from watching how the male behaves whether he's fanning and preparing a good looking bed to attract a female or he's already guarding eggs or fry.

This is a good time to be alive and on the water with some Polarized glasses......but so is April and May and June and July and August and................................

I really appreciate all the info! This 70-80 degree weather has really helped warm the waters up! I checked it last week and it was sittin' right at 53 degrees, so hopefully this weather will get it on up there! I'm headin' out to check it again today...

I think length of available light,moon and temp all play a role,the more that connect the more the drive.
ky lake is 59.04 going up 1 deg per day almost.Staging on outer points mostly.
