Back to Spring

Ok. to my Soutern friends this may mean nothing but a major cold front for a week or two. But here, your talking nights back into the low forties and highs in the high forties, maybe colder.
So the bass have already made thier mid-late April transitions and some even scoping beds. Bite has increased intensity almost daily with the water warm up. No real vegie growth but trees are budded and flowers and grass and such greened. So do think this will send them back deep for a do over or do you think as long as sun continues to shine they will stay and just kind of become lethargic. I mean the sun warms water faster than cool nights can take it back, right?
So what do you think?

Hey Joe...........If your local water temps are higher than the daytime highs and much higher than the nightime lows, which I'm guessing is the case, the fish will back up to the next depth break to wait it out or snug up tight to cover in whatever depth they're currently using. Regardless I imagine it's been warm for long enough now that the only real damage will be a very short strike zone......They've come too far for a do over now.

I don't think they are going to be heading back to deeper water at this point. I'm convinced after all these years that northern largemouths are less effected by cold water than southern species. However, I think you'll find they will be holding close to cover and less willing to strike unless you put that lure right on their nose. I've had bass this year really wack my baits hard just days after ice out when water temps were still in the upper 30's to low 40's.
