Default Just trying PowePro, Need Some Advice.

I went to a local store today, and was browsing through the fishing aisles again, and spotted some 20lb/6lb diameter PowerPro Line for 5.99 so i picked it up. All i own right now is spinning rods, and was just wondering if you had to tie a mono leader on, and does it cast good or not? Thanks
Any advce will be apprieciated.

Ryan

I love Power Pro!! I swear by the stuff. It casts great. Its a little loud going through the rod eyes but it is super srong and unbeleivably sensative. If you are fishing clear water I would tie a mono leader. I use Vanish for my leaders. Typicaly a 7-12 inch leader is good. But you picked the right line. ESpecialy for spinning outfits. This is almost the only line I use when I need a super sensativer line. The only exeption is in super clear water and then I go to Cajun Cast......... I have it on all but 1 of my rods.......

I haven't used it on a spinning reel but a lot of folks do. I don't use a leader-just tie straight to the lure. It will make a lot more noise coming through the guides, but this is normal. If you get snagged, wrap your line around something-NOT your hand or finger-and then pull. Otherwise it will dig into your spool-not a major problem but your next cast will be REAL short . (Note to self-FOLLOW YOUR OWN ADVICE )

looked cheap for me
I've had the same cheap PowerPro on several rods for several years and it is still going strong. The price may be cheap, but the line itself is quality.

Haven't heard me talk about it-I have no experience with it. All I use is green Trilene XL, PowerPro, and Seguar Carbon Pro Flourocarbon-MUCH better than Vanish IMO. I started using the PowerPro and Seguar on the recommendation of people I respect from these boards. Dodgeguy is the big Cajun Red proponent, and if he recommends it you can take it to the bank it is worth using.

If it was made by Stren or Trilene it Would be up there around 15 or 16 bucks I garentee you. Great line for the price. Outdoes any mono I have ever tried.

this is the best mono ever imo bar none.it is the limpest easiest casting mono and abrasion resistance is good.make sure you get red cast and not red lightning.

No leader needed depending on the conditions of course. It works fine on spinning rods/reels. It takes some time to actually "Break-IN" so it will get better the more you use it. If you are fishing with the zebra musells, use a leader(phlourocarbon or some variation), if not then you don't need to, unless "YOU" believe it makes a difference then by all means use a leader.

I Cant Believe You Like Vanish I Hate The Stuff The Memory Is So Bad I Stripped It Off All Of My Poles After Just A Week. And Powerpro Is The Best Braid I Think Where Did You Find It That Cheap It Usually Costs Almost 25 For 300 Yds.

it was just at a local store called pamida, the reg. price was 14.99.

By the way, I jsut put it on my spinning reel, and practiced casting, and it did not seem loud to me? It really casts far, now jsut to see how it handles a fish!!!

With power pro, dont worry about handling the fish. If it's hooked just reel, the stuff wont snap.
