Any of those would be good. As an alternative I'll throw in the reel I use:
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse I've tried a lot of different reels, and have been VERY satisfied with the Extreme.

i love the curado. might not be the best performing reel but it is tough as nails. i got the new pro qualifer from bass pro shops because it was on sale and it is the smoothest reel i have ever casted. but i dont know if it will last.

If you are willing to pay $400 then here is the reel
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...331&hasJS=true It's probably one of the best if not the best LOW profile reels made period. However I would do as I did, and buy a new one off of ebay for closer to $300. If new it will come with warranty paperwork, etc... As for the other reels, all of them should work fine, however don't buy the Standard Curado if you are going to go that route, get the SF(Super Free) model. Lizards

Take your money to BPS and check their inventory.. Buy three or four nice rod and reels and I know between the three or four, that they will out last any four hundred dollar reel..

For 400 I would not think it too much, there are only two options: Calais or TDZ, and IŽll take the TDZ hands down beacuse it weights a lot less than the Calais, now if you like round reels the options are Millionaire CV-Z or Calcutta TE.

Well I have to say did you think about any other brand ?Quantum is alright , but Shimano ? I can talk you through this even though I didn't get through to Lizards,I will give it another go. If you think about spending your hard earned money on a Shimano reel, just say the last two letters of Shimano outloud repeatedly until the urge to buy an overpriced Shimano is gone.If you think your a impulsive buyer, take your wife so she can push the button on the canine training collar device you will have already put on before entering the store.Make sure she starts out on a Medium setting at first to keep the yelp to a minimum, but make sure she is capable of setting it to the highest setting if you insist on buying it after the initial shocking. That should be all required to get alot of reel for your money instead of getting a reel for alot of your money.Maybe someday you will thank me for it. Ill go with REB's option. I own 4 or 5 of them now and love them. You can buy 3-4 for 4 bills.

Get a couple of BPS Extreme reels. You can't beat the value and quality.
