Bassmaster Classic
Didnt see anybody else talkin about it. I was at work so i was on top of it pretty much all day. Looks like the top three guys are all fishing close enough to throw jigs at eachothers heads. Im curious how well this spot will hold up with so many putting pressure on it for three days straight. Watched the weigh in live. Dave Mercer is doing a great job as MC.

They're already talking about increased pressure from local fishermen in that spot for today/tomorrow. IMO, I don't think that spot will hold up to all of that. From the looks of it yesterday you could almost jump from boat to boat and not get your feet wet. Not my kind of fishing at all.

Where can I get info on the Classic? I can't seem to find anything on tv at either Versus or ESPN about it.

I think he will have to apologize to Gerald Swindle though. Their joking on stage appeared to really upset him.

No TV coverage until next week. The size of the Louisiana Delta scared them from trying same day coverage. Bassmaster.com has some live streaming going on though throughout the day. |

Hopefully the pressure doesnt get to aaron, he tends to (spin)out when he gets other anglers boating fish in front of him. I would really like to see him break the bridesmaid curse he has. As for that spot putting out fish all week, if KVD didnt think it would he wouldnt be fishing it (the man/cyborg always stays a day ahead of the fish). with all that said GO SKEET!

Following the blog today it appears that hole hasnt dried up yet. Russ Lane boated an 8 pounder out of it and derek Remitz found a nice 6. Apparently Aaron Martens had words with a guy throwing a rat'l'trap within about 20 yards from his boat.

From http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/t...c_11_liveblog: -- "There's a spectator fishing around 20 yards from Martens, throwing a chrome/blue lipless crank. Aaron said something to him but we couldn't make out exactly what. There's a constant stream of patter from him aimed at his cameraman or just to himself." |

I have been staying on top of it pretty well for the last two days. Those guys who are making the 150 mile run one way to Venice have to be sure their fish are there because when you knock over 4 hours off of your day in just run time it doesn't leave much time for a plan B to come into play. I agree that they are taking a lot of fish off of one spot and I don't know how well it will hold up. I thought at first it was a pre-spawn staging area and that it would probably reload everyday, but they are saying that it is more of a feeding deal than a pre-spawn deal so it is going to be very important to manage the fish on this spot which doesn't look like is going to be possible because not only are there a lot of guys fishing that spot, but most of them are up front so that means there has been some big bags taken out of there already.
I think that on the final day the biggest bag will come from another area and the guys who go back to this spot again because they don't have another spot probably won't do as well as a guy who is saving a spot for the final day. Man KVD is just amazing! I honestly thought that the delta would be the great equalizer because of it's size, but again the guy is finding a way to get it done. |

Anytime KVD is around, he's always a threat. Once he figures things out, whichusually doesn't take long, look out!

Is it just me or does it seem like he is trying to hard? I am on the fence with him.
I would like to hear how many people ended up in Lake Cat today after the fog delay and the realization that it was potentially on fire in there. Scott Rook appeared visibly upset at his weigh in and mentioned it was a lot more crowded in there today. |

the only way tos top KVD is drill a 2" hole in his boat... i dont think you could break all his rods, steal his outboard and cut the wires to his trolling motor and slow him down.

KVD will become an icon like Chuck Norris. I can see it now: KVD does not wear condoms, because there is no such thing as protection from KVD When the Elites go to bed, they check their closet for KVD Some people wear Superman pajamas, Superman wears KVD pajamas KVD does not fish because the word fishing infers the probability of failure. KVD goes catching. KVD is the reason Waldo is hiding. OK, sorry about that, couldn't help it. The bad thing for the guys behind him is that they know he is relentless and he will not give an inch of slack. You know some guys would go in with a good lead and pump the brakes for the sake of giving a killer interview that evening. KVD will be on the water slinging until Mickey Mouse chimes and tells him to head for the ramp.

Awe SNAP! The wolverine is putting the heat on KVD! he has a unofficial weight of 25# right now and still has half the day to go! His camera guy says Remitz has a 10 in the livewell. This is getting real interesting.
