Default Mallen's Noob Thread

I was thinkin bout how I came to be here with all of you.

I mentioned it in the basschat thread, but thought you all may get a kick out of this, and didn't want to clutter that thread

http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...ad.php?t=18888

If anyone else has an embarassing story to tell on how they came to be here, feel free to post it here (and take away my red face lol)

You guys have helped me a ton, and I appreciate it

I found it one night doing some research for content for the site I had. Thought I'd sign up and get some ideas. Everybody made me feel at home right off the bat.. That in and of itself kept me coming back.

Um...I came here looking for advice on a bass boat for a "tall guy."

I'm sure you find that funny too.

Back when Excite was a popular search engine, this site was one of the first to come up. I guess I was 14 or so. Gave advice when I was only marginally fit to do so. I never made anything up, but did a fair amount of the same **** other 14 year old kids do to this day.

I got windows Vista or some nonsense.
We are able to add what they call gadgets.
One gadget was forum previews or listings.
Dozens!
I listed every single 'bass fishing' site they had, addiction rears it's ugly head.
This,UB and one other are the ONLY ones that survived.
And UB I visit often but never joined.
I google EVERY single idea, there ALWAYS more than one way to see things. Plus everyone knows that in my book,"To much information is....just not quite enough!"

The BAD NEWS...you anglers are STUCK with ME!

And Sammy, you out number the posts but I GURANTEE I'VE irritated more!

Agree, ol Snapper G has had some doozies in his time. He was as passionate about fishing and as thirsty for knowledge as anyone I'd ever met though. Couldn't help but like the kid, in spite of his never ending gear questions, "expert" advice and total lack of spelling abilities. Plus, he caught more big fish than just about anybody around.

I don't remember, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Maybe it was when me and Bryce were sitting in front of the TV, watchin' the Democratic National Convention and drinking diet orange Crush and munching on some Twinkies and waiting for our Hot Pockets to warm in the microwave when we decided there must be something better to do than laugh at Bill Clinton...
