One smart dog!
I just had to share this. We have two dogs, Gretta the German Shorthair Pointer, and Zoey the yellow lab. Gretta is very intelligent. Probably more so than I. lol When she was a pup, she figured out how to steal toys from Zoey. She would whine at the patio door as though she had to go outside. Zoey would always go outside with her. Gretta figured out that if she went outside, and Zoey followed, she could rush back inside and steal her toy. And so she would do exactly that. We caught on quickly to her scheme. Well tonight, I gave them each their own rawhide bone. Gretta devoured hers in short order, while Zoey will nurse hers for hours and hours. About 20 minutes after I gave them each their rawhide tonight, Gretta started whining from the bedroom as though something was seriously wrong. I ignored her as did Zoey, but after 20 minutes of Gretta whining and barking and pacing back and forth up and down the hall, Zoey and I both decided something just might really be wrong. Zoey was down with Gretta near the bedroom barking and running back to me barking like Lassie would if something was wrong. I thought, wow, there might be something to this. So I wondered down the hall with Zoey barking every step of the way along side me. As we walked into the bedroom, Gretta bolted past us as though she was super dog. Fast as lightning!!! And I'm like, what the??? I followed her back to the living room, only to find her munching on Zoeys bone! She got a "bad dog" and a whack for that. lol So here we are, Zoey laying here protecting her bone and Gretta also laying here, eyeing Zoeys bone. It's quite comical!
