Default Reel Seats?

We got into a cool discussion on the chat tonight, so I figure I would ask others on which reel seat do you prefer? ACS, ECS, or Skeletal (abu veritas, or e21 style)

ECS all the way for me. I've got a rod with the ACS seat, but don't like it as much. Daiwa's Airbeam seats are extremely comfortable from the little I've played with them. Haven't gotten to fish them though...

Im a fan of the ACS seat myself...I can understand why some wouldn't like em..I bet its hard to get your hand comfortable while holding a purse...j/k
But no seriously I like being able to ''lock'' my hand in the reel seat, but still be able to adjust for different grips for certain techniques.

I think Im starting to come around to split seats....Fuji had a new one come out recently call the SK2 seat and hood
In the top left corner here...I think their featured on the new Phenix rods

Heard the hood weighs a little more, but the added weight is in a good spot at least.

Okay fellas, I admit that I am rather dumb when it comes to a lot of things, but particularly this.
Can someone explain the difference between the three.

ECS and ACS are two different styles of reel seat that Fuji sells. 90% of factory rods with exposed seats use Fuji ECS seats. The ACS has extra finger grooves that some people love and some hate.

I personally use ECS reel seats, they seem to fit my hands and the way I hold a rod better.

I waited and waited and waited for the Fuji splits but couldn't wait any longer. I am building 2 rods I would have loved them to be on. A drop shot rod and a senko rod (both spinning). They SK2 was supposed to be out in December, but hasn't hit the shelves yet (at least to normal customers).

Fuji makes great products and I'm sure the SK2 will be no different but it sure looks like it keeps the reel a pretty good distance off the blank. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

When it comes to the ACS seat, it looks like Bruce Wayne designed it for fishing in his black suit... I havent handled one enough to make a decision either way. I am lookin at buying a Vendetta, so maybe i will have an opnion soon.

The distance off the blank and the fact you still need arbors makes me shy away from the sk2 style seats ..I'm coming from a saltwater rod building perspective and I've seen several minima type seats broken or lose reels in the heat of a battle.you don't save much weight with a split seat and you lose an amount of strength/stability. I get requests for spit seats because "they look cool" and "they're so light"... the reel seat is not the place to save weight if it fails."

considering what you guys are saying, I am glad I didn't wait and just moved on.

Anybody know what rod (other than Phenix) they will be on? I can't recall Phenix Rods being at BPS. I sure would like to play with one on a production rod and make an assessment on them.

I use a lot of Fuji components but for a skeletal reel seat I prefer the PacBay Minima seat. http://www.mudhole.com/Shop-Our-Cata...ting-Reel-Seat
