plastic Worms are my favorite all-round bait, like some people said it really depends on if you are bank fishing or fishing from a boat. also how you want to work the worm. if you want to have it suspended you dont need to cast too far. its harder to control a suspended worm the farther it is from you. When i bank fish ive gotta get a long cast to reach the areas i am targeting. A problem i sometimes have with this is that a long cast messes up my rigging and when i reel the worm back in, ill notice the hook has changed positions etc...
