One thing that I didnt see mention alot was the actual responsibilities of the back seater. A couple of things come to mind if you have a good boater or not. Always offer the boater some cash for the gas he/she used. IT costs alot to take these big machines out and run from spot to spot. I always keep a mental note on how far we went and how much fuel we consumed during the course of the day and offer cash accordingly. If you dont have alot extra cash flow...offer the guy 20.00. A small gesture goes along way. Also always offer to help clean the boat and wipe it down. Dont grab your stuff and bail just cause the boat is outa the water. Once again make the offer even if your boater was a nice guy or a jerk. Even if the boater declines both the cash and the clean up you'll feel better knowing that you made the little extra effort.
On a side note...I have seen ALOT of backseaters clean up after a boater missed some key spots. I have also seen alot of backseaters cash a check when the boater didnt. Use common sense and you will do just fine!!! |
