what size of reel is too big for bass?
hi, i am pretty new to fishing, but with help of a friend i have been learning a lot. but i recently bought a new reel and it is pretty big. i was wondering if i got too big of a reel, it is 8lb/260yds - 10lb/195yds - 12lb/175yds. we are mainly fishing bass up in michigan and ohio. the real is a pflueger president, and i will have it on a XPS Pro Qualifier rod. thanx for helping a newbie out ha ha.

Not sure whether you're talking spinning or baitcasting, but either way, lines in the 8-12# range are commonly used in bass fishing, with many people using heavier lines.

well yeah that would be my stradic. and nobody wants it. i dont think im allowed to trade it in because i used it twice. i want another stradic, except a really light one. i think stradics are perhaps the best reel inthe 90-130 dollar price range

haha the reel was 130 bucks. i got it for making it into medical school. only time id ever get somethign of this price. also got a st.croix avid in the deal. the other half of the deal is 50 lures. 25 by T-rexx and 20 soft plastics, 5 spinnerbaits. no, i would like a smaller size of this reel. the smaller size is 20 bucks less, so it would be a gain...

haha no, not college. yes i am a kid. but i made it into a specialized school. Academy of allied health. the number one high school in new jersey. theyre highschools that are geared towards a certain feild. ill be working at hospitals. and yeah this is lazy kid speak... you should see what kinds of essays i write. in fact, i wrote a 5 page persuasive essay for school and i think i persuaded my teacher to fish just got my GEPAs back, i did nice. all above proficient, only one score, language arts was 4 points down. 16/20. everything else was perfect or 19/20. im not stupid just dont like to type smart... in fact i got chased off another forum. apparently im a troll because i use "...". its called something like an epilippis but i cant spell it. anyways kids are not supposed to have decent grammar or use big words, so yeah. im plannign on going to harvard, yale, or johns hopkins

Not yet, bassguy-I'll get around to it one of these days.
Flyrod, no way I'd eat that rock. Anybody can eat a rock, but how many do you know that can catch one on a wacky rigged Tiki Stick !
