Default New Members/lurkers, introduce yourself!

Since some people have an opinion that bassfishin' forum isn't 'friendly', I suggest creating the New Members forum to be a regular spot of welcoming. I agree that General Discussion has been pretty heated in the past several weeks, but hopefully, with the instituting of the New Members forum, people will post here to get themselves introduced and started off in calm waters before swimming with the sharks.
Hopefully Kevin can make this post as a "sticky"

Default hello all

Well I'll go first. My name is Andy Klingerman and I am 29 years old.
I've lived in Southwest Mi my hole life and have grown up fishing a little bit of everything.
The last 3-4 years I have been strickly fishing bass. This year I started fishing some small local tournaments. I have found out that i have alot to learn.
My first tourney me and my partner got skunked. My partner then bailed on me. Since then i hooked up with a guy that i work with that has been showing me some new tricks and techs.
We fished our first tounament together 2 weeks ago and finished 6th out of 18 boats.
We have another one this weekend and it suppose to be raining so I'm pretty nervous about that.
Any tips for fishing in the rain would be great.
Thanks, Andy

Good idea, JB.

Welcome to the forum, Andy!

Fishing in the rain can be real productive. The lower light wil pull fish away from cover and the rain adds oxygen. I've done well with just about any kind of bait. Plus, there won't be near as many folks on the water. PnJ-another member here-is the rain guru. I'm sure he'll chime in.

In the rain, I have personally done quite well on both a zara spook and a buzzbait. Welcome to the site!

Names Kevin, 21, from East Brunswick, NJ. I just got back into fishing last year, and recently acquired a boat. I was sick and tired of fishing from land! Still waiting on the tow hitch for my jeep!! Haven't gone out that much this summer, but the boat will change everything

Welcome to all the new folks. Everyone can get testy from time to time. But for the most part we have a fun time, and also seem to learn a few things along the way. All folks interested in Bassin are welcome here. Have fun, enjoy the forum, and fish as much as you can. JB who said this wasn't a friendly forum, I need to go kick the , oh never mind LOL.

Default South Jersey Boy

Hi, the name is obvious have been bass fishing for along time but haven't seriously in about 5 yrs. Spend most of my time striper fishing along the NJ coast but occassionally I venture out in the ponds. Used to fish local tournys and was a fannatic when I was younger. Still a fannatic but usually trying to see what I can catch with the fly rod. Heres an old pic.

crankybait, I have a friend who fishes there and it sounds great. There are alot of places that would love to fish, problem is with three kids and bow season coming up not enough time. I fish from April til end of Oct every weekend in the salt and usually three times a week after work in the pads.

Bill- Being a kid i know i can take tons of time... Well, the hook, point pleasant, and wildwoods are all great. hopefuly you'll get there one day.

monmouth mall... 10 minute drive from here. Have you ever fished Manasquan reservoir? Great place... I never caught there but I've seen giant bass from there.

And Tom, all joking asides, I think it would be a pleasure if I ever got to fish with you. You may not think the same of me, but hey when fishing i put on my serious face
