What is the difference between highland and lowland reservoirs? Flatland? What are the types?

Jooleyen- In a nutshell, a highland reservoir usually has steeper sides and is deeper than a lowland reservoir. They also tend to be clearer. Smith Mountain Lake in VA, although not a real reservoir, is an example of steep sides and deep at about 200'. Lake Norman in NC is an example of a lowland reservoir since it's average depth is about 33'-34'. Hope that helps

Its a fancy way of trying to classify reservoirs as deep/clear or shallow/muddy.

There is another classification; riverine. These are reservoirs that still maintain characteristics of a river to some extent. Good examples would be Pickwick, Guntersville or perhaps Sam Rayburn.

That is as opposed to say a reservoir like Dale Hollow.

In 1987 BASS published a book call The Best of Bassmaster, A "How-To" Treasury. If you really are interested in learning more about bass fishing this is probably the best book to have. The articles used in the book were written to teach about topics like your question not to promote the new hot baits and the big tackle manufacturers.
If you can find a copy, grab it.

You've never met Roland in real life have you? A life size doll isn't that big...compared to Zooker that is. Still on the stand the neck hairs up side of creepy though.
