Just so y'all don't get confused, I'm from Eastern PA, Beaver is Western PA, a.k.a., "Pennsyltuckey". They grow 'em "different" out that way. To answer everyone's question, Yes, teens today aren't as "bright", it's all part of the plan.

Political scientists have been fond of saying that Pennsylvania is Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburg in the west, and Alabama in the middle. Not sure if that should be insulting to us down here, but at least the two cities arent anything special, either.
