new spinning rod
i was fishin today in some lillypads in my john boat and my t-rigged worm got hung i kept jerkin it for it to mayb fly out of the snag but my rod snapped in half!...i have a nice abu garcia cardinal reel and i need a new rod...ne ideas on a good rod?

eagle claw make a decent spinning rod in that price range or a fenwick gt at $50..

nahh i bought it about...early june...its been a good rod but i didnt really like it that great so i want a different kind

i love the quantum rods, in a medium action, they are the best rod out there IMO!!!

sorry to hear that! looks like you got the whole gamut on rod choices. The next time you get snagged, take the rod and reel out of the equation. Pull off enough slack to work with such that the rod and reel are not used in your attempt to free the snag. This will equate to a 0% of breaking your rod, unless you step on it! Just kidding. And as your tugging on the line to free the snagged lure, always pull away from your body to either your left or right, as opposed to directly toward you. If the lure snaps back at you, there is zero chance of it hitting or hooking you because its flight path is already to your side.
That's a pretty decent spinning reel you have. I also have an abu g cardinal 101 mated to an Okuma 7' ultralight.

yeah well thanks for yalls advice but i bought me an abu garcia rod...its real nice its got a nice cork handle with a grip on it

um i got the conolon premier abu i want to try mine too i think im gonna try to go tommorrow...haha its funny cuz everything i fish with as far as rods and reels is abu garcia

hmmmmm, i wonder why thats your name.what other abu"S you own. i have two cardinals and an abassuder baitcaster. pretty good reels that arnt too pricy either, i look in to getting more in the future

i got the cardinal on that new abu rod, and an abu ambassuder on my old abu rod BUT! i mite be getn me a new low profile baitcaster sometime soon...im thinkn shimano or quantum

try a Penn Purist, about 45 dollars at sports authority
shimano sojurn, about 20 dollars at sports authority, with or without reels I like both of these rods, have them from ul to heavy salt water. Penn spinfisher is another good one but goes for about 120 with reel, have not seen the fresh water ones with no reel.

yeah its alright chris i gotta buy everything also but me n my grandpa fish all the time and that what we get each other for christmas gifts....thats what this new baitcaster is gonna be
