Algae Bloom
What is the best way to approach fishing during the algae bloom? Which baits thrive?

I prefer to throw buzz baits over the top of them. If I want to work the canals created by the algae, I like to toss out a weighted fluke.
I have some success by throwing an IKA. If glides across the algae okay and is heavy enough to fall into the holes.

Glad to hear it. I was at El Cap this past week. I figured you had not made it down this way after all.

I don't know if this will help you at all, maybe give you some ideas, but it was a nice read if nothing else.

The boiling shad is fun, but I prefer to go to the far north point and pitch into all the laydowns and brush piles. I am guaranteed to catch bass on the shad, but very few will break 1 1/2 lbs.

I haven't fished any of the night tourney's there this year. The combo of the entry fees and an inconsistant partner made it a non option.
