Depth?

How Deep Can You Effectivly Fish A Jig Or Lizard? Do The Fish Know That Lizards And Crawdads Dont Live That Deep?

Jigs are primarily a bottom searchbait. So depth is the bottom. People do swim jigs, but the primary use is to search the bottom and get into bottom structure effectively. Im not a big jig user, I do try them, just not confident in them. Lizards can be used the same as any worm. Crawdads are bottom dwelling creatures.

My range of fishing plastics is from surface to maybe 25 feet, but occassionally I have fished as deep as 35 feet.

No depth isn't a issue. If it was, then nobody would ever fish a c-rig deep.

Bass aren't smart enough to realize a bait shouldn't be at a certain depth. Bass tend to be opportunistic. They'll take what comes along if they're hungry. They'll even hit the right lure when they're not hungry (on beds etc.)

I caught fish this past weekend in 50+ feet of water on a 1 oz. Strike King Jig.

I would say depth isn't really an issue.
