Split your topwaters to morning and evening. Throw some hoopla at em, like cool mornings poppers etc, in the evening after the waters warmed buzz baits etc.....

something along those lines

A place to look for them in the afternoon/evening is under docks around boat lifts (shade).

Just on this site you could have a 2 hour presentation in a matter of minutes doing a little search on a couple of lures/presentations. That might be an easy way to do the pres.

Use bigger and darker colored baits as it gets dark, so the fish can see the outline better, and it moves more water so they can sense it easier with their lateral line.

I did a presentation on bass fishing in high school too. It was a good idea since I sat in class and read bassmaster instead of listening to the teachers.

Are you focusing on how the bass alter their behavior at different times of the day, or how you alter yours?

Bass are normally (exception being in winter) more active in the morning and evenings. That means you can use lures that they will chase. Topwaters and spinnerbaits work the same way in that regard. They pull active bass in. Cause and effect.

Wrote this in 4 years ago in hs it was a speech:

Bass Fishing
I. Introduction
The Contribution of bass fishing to the US economy records $50 to $70 Billion and the number continues to grow.
A. This fact shows how popular bass fishing is in the United States
B. It also shows how expensive the sport is, and how much it could cost to
keep up with the sport.
C. Throughout my speech I will teach all of you how to become a successful bass
angler. I will teach you what to use, where to use it, and when to use it.

II. Body

A. What you need

1. Picking the right lure

a. Top-Water- Fish in early morning and afternoon, when fishing top-water lures
you want to use a stop and go method which means reel in and stop wait about
2 seconds. Also when fishing a top-water you want to make sure that you get
a lot of distance on your cast to ensure you are covering a good amount of
water. Work good anytime the water is above 55 degrees.
b. Crankbaits- One of the most used baits this lure is good in many different
situations, around rock ledges, trees, drop offs, etc. Crankbaits can be fished in
many different retrieves, but you never want to fish them to fast, we will start
out with a fast rate, this is when the water is 65 degrees and up and the fish
are a little more aggressive, while the medium rate is used in spring when the
bass are bedding, then slow is used in late fall when the fish really start to slow
down. There are shallow divers, medium divers and deep divers, what you
want to use all depends on the depth of the water.
c. Spinnerbaits- Spinners are a very popular lure, mostly because they are the
most versatile. Although spinners will work great all year round spring/early
fall are the best times to fish spinners. In the spring when bass are bedding you
can throw a spinner parallel to the shore and bring it in at a medium retrieve.
d. Plastics- Plastics are a go to bait anytime of the year and can be easily fished.
After casting the worm out let the worm sink to the bottom without jerking it
at all this will most likely cause a reaction strike if the bass are watching it.
Once the bait has reached the bottom of the pond/lake/reservoir, lift your rod tip
this allows the bait to flutter in the water and appear like a dying fish, worm,
frog etc. There are also a number of different ways that you can rig a worm,
Texas rig, Carolina rig, and the wacky rig.
e. Jigs- Are known for there ability to catch big fish, in warm and cold weather,
the jig can be used year round but is known for its ability to catch fish in the
winter time when the bass are sluggish and do not want to move. To fish a jig an
angler must have plenty of practice at it, and I do not recommend you start out
with this. To fish a jig you cast out beyond your target you slowly reel it in
hopping it all the way.

2. Equipment
a. Rod
b. Reel
c. Line
d. Tackle box

B. Where to find bass, bass hide in all different types of structure for many different reasons, to find shade, or even to ambush prey.

1. Downed Trees- Downed trees provide great cover for not only bass but also
bait fish, when fishing around a downed tree you want to use a worm, jig, or spinner bait along the sides for best results. Also when fishing the tree make sure you hit every bend in the branch.
2. Drop-Offs/Rock ledges- Drop offs provide many things that are helpful to the success of an angler, during hot summer days and during winter the fish will sit around these drop offs. This is great if you can find it, and if you do tie on a deep running crankbait and swim it across the drop off.
3. Weeds- Anytime fall, winter, spring, summer, you see weeds/allege on the top
of the water you want to pitch into that gap with a worm or jig, and if you can
run a spinner along the side of the weeds that is even better. The fish like to sit
there because it provides shade.
4. Shade- Often times when you are fishing a certain body of water there will be a
spot with shade from a tree, house, bush etc. during the summer this is what
you want to look for because the fish are trying to get out of the sun to. This is
time when you can tie on whatever you want or feel most comfortable with.
5. Any other type of hidden structure beneath the water, wells, boats, etc.

C. Bass fishing can be done all year round but is easier at different times of
year.
1. Spring- Spring is probably the best time of the year to bass fish not
only are the bass there biggest but they also are up close to shore bedding
this makes fishing even better because the bass are so aggressive chasing
sunny out of there domain. At this time of the year it is best to use crank baits
spinner baits worked parallel to the shore.
2. Summer- Summer is probably the toughest time of year to fish, because all of
fish are in deep water or in heavy cover this is why it is my favorite time of
year to fish, because I enjoy fishing structure. When throwing into heavy cover
during the summer you want to use a worm or jig to hit all the little pockets. If
you are fishing the edges you want to use a spinner bait or crank bait.
3. Fall- Can be one of the most productive seasons to fish because the bass are
coming out of there summer feeding slump and are ready to feed for the up
coming winter. Not only that but all the changing conditions play a factor in
your success bass fishing. The best thing to fishing this time of year are jerkbaits
like spinners or cranks.
4. Winter- Winter can be the most frustrating time of year to catch fish, but at the
same time it can be the best to catch a trophy bass. During winter the water is
cold and bass are sluggish and just sit around they don’t eat much because there
metabolism has slowed. In the winter you have to keep it simple fish worms
and pig n jigs.

III. Conclusion
A. Now that I have told you what to fish, where to fish it, and when to fish it, I
hope that you are a step closer to becoming a successful bass angler.

haha good old high school wrote this one to.

Demonstrative Speech

I. Introduction- Fishing with the right equipment can make a huge difference from the Big bass being on the line to him be lost. Knots and equipment are the first things need to catch the big one.
1. Today I will show you how to effectively get your rod ready to go fishing.
a. String the rod
b. Tie an effective knot, clinch knot in this case
c. Set the brakes to the proper Adjustment, Set cast control to proper
Adjustment
e. An effective overhand cast

II. Body
1. Carefully put the string through every hole on the rod
2. Tie Clinch knot
a. Insert 6 to 8 inches on line throw eye of hook, take it back throw again
b. Hold loop at end in mouth, wrap excess line around line 3-5 times be sure to keep a little loop at the end
c. Put the end of the line through both loops and let go tighten until knot is achieved.
3. Set brakes on bait caster by using knob on left side (depends on distance wanted to cast, Adjust cast control so that the bait slowly falls to the ground
4. Bring rod over shoulder back past ear and slowly come forward release and use your thumb to control the line.

III. Conclusion
1. Today I have taught you how to string a rod, tie a proper clinch knot and make reel adjustments, but above all how to make a prefect over hand cast.
2.Today I have shown you how to get ready for a successful fishing trip and how to make a accurate over hand cast now go out and catch some big ones !

I agree, with the darker colors at night time. In NY, fishing the Hudson River a blue/black skirted spinnerbait with black blades worked great! Or even a darker buzzbait.

Down here varies. Topwater (Don Iovino Splash It), if the frog bites on...early evening you can catch them on a Spro Bronzeye. Flipping into the heavy grass beds also works well.

Good Luck with your presentation.

Are you allowed to actually bring some of the baits in while you present your presentation? If you get nervous while presenting bringing something like that in helps to keep people from looking directly at you...

Also if looking at people while you speak bothers you, look at their foreheads...they'll never know your not looking directly at them.
