Default Prayer request

********* Please see my update later in this thread *********
********* Please see my update later in this thread *********

Our dog, Lucky, became very sick last night and I had to take him to the vet right away this morning. They found problems with his liver, kidneys, and bleeding ulcers. I had to leave him for them to work on right away (IV for fluids, warm him to get his body temp back up, pain meds, etc.), but we were able to go back and visit him briefly before the vet office closed for the evening. The best they can tell us is that only time will tell how his organs will respond to the treatment they are giving him.

He turned 9 this summer and we have had him for 7 years. We adopted him from a rescue group.

Any prayers you could offer up for him, Kaye and me would be most appreciated. He is a true member of our family. Thank you so much.

Dean

We got a call from our vet about an hour ago and Lucky had taken a drastic turn for the worse. He was heavily sedated so he wasn't suffering, but there just wasn't anything further they could do for him. She wasn't sure he would survive the night and we didn't want him to suffer any longer, so we made the heartbreaking, gut-wrenching decision to say good-bye. We are now home from the agonizing drive across town and back to him put down and our lives have been turned upside down, all in 24 hours. We've done this before with our previous dog and one cat, so we know it will get better in time, but for now it just hurts to the core.

We so appreciate all of your prayers as we mourn and try to pick up the pieces. Thanks everyone.

Dean & Kaye

Dean I truly am sorry to hear.
Prayers still going out!

It doesn't make things any easier but I KNOW there is another rescue is patiently awaiting a new home.
Please pass on my condolences to Kaye.

I know the pain you and Miss Kaye are going through right now. I'm so sorry for your loss. There isn't anything anyone can say that will make this easier, so I won't try. I will keep you guys in my prayers. You have my deepest condolences.

Sorry to hear about this. We lost our 10 y.o. boy on the 16th. Very similar situation, he was acting lethargic and my wife took him to the vet and the next morning he was gone. I was traveling and that made it especially tough on her. I understand how difficult of a time this is and wish you the best.
