Can you say spinnerbaits. They are also a deeper water fish down here.

They are out of my class. And they can be caught on just about anything you throw at a bass, they are right up there with bowfin. And I don't like em, because they usually ruin my bait.

ya they can be caught on any bass lure really, seen em caught alot on spinners but ive only caught two and both on Daredevils.

A big one will make a good fight but if there stocked or over crowded in a lake they suck

They will readily take any lure in your tackle box, from topwaters to bottom crawlers and everything in-between. I'd give the nod to spinnerbaits, though, as the #1 producer. In my opinion, they are better fighters than largemouth.

Too bony!

Soft sticks used as jerkworms
white spinnerbaits
popper or Sammies
grubs/tubes/shads
spoons (Krocodile)

5' or less over flats and where you would normally find bass

They are a nuisance and belong in the same catigory as the bowfin. I know exactly what zooker is talking about. They never tore up an expensive rod like that for me, but one hit me so hard when I was fishing the Nottaway that it broke my cheap berkley. I just don't have any respect for them at all. Don't know how many spinner baits they've ruined. But I do know it's been a bunch. I don't like em...

mine did the famus gator roll at boat side. i was forced to use both hands on the rod. again he was 48" or my name is john blakeman.. every bit of 7 pounds guessing-had a big ole gut- i still got my daves blade bait loose from his maw. used and ole pike catchers trick and a set of pliers..
