Default Reparing broken baits.

So I have about a half a dozen cranks with broken lips because they were either bounced off of rocks, bridges, or the side of my boat. Well I tried fishing one with two part epoxy, let it sit over night to cure, but when I started pulling on it to see if it would hold it eventually broke. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to repare broken baits? Thanks good fishin

Regular super glue worked for me. I still use that lure and I caught a 4 pounder soon after gluing it, a 3 pounder about two weeks ago, and a few dinks in between.

Sometimes it's sad to say goodbye to lures you trust and have a history with. Dry your eye. Buy another if they still make them.

When I was a boy, my gramps snagged his favorite lure in a stump. I thought the fishing trip was over. He shrugged it off. He said "you can't catch the fish if you don't put the bait where they live."

okay, so I'll bite...(punny)...if the lip broke off, surely it was lost and couldn't be glued back on? If partially broke, super glue might be good. Another choice might be model glue since it partially disolves the plastic, fusing it together.

I have two lures that were my grandfather's that have now become more of a display than to be used. Both had the lips broken off once before and we repaired them by applying super glue for the initial set. We then carved two fine lines on both sides of the lip. We cut a needle down to size and placed the ends into the grooves. Finally, we applied a thin coat of glue across the top of the needles. This appeared to work well and he continued to fish with these for several more years.
Now, he was a machinist by trade, so it was easier for him than it would have been for me with the dremmel

Remove the hooks and sell them as key chains.

if you have a dremel, use the cutting bit to completely cut the lip out of the bait, then put in a new lip. these can be bought at jannsnetcraft.com or be made from plexiglass. IMO not worth the work... buy a new one

If you cut off the lip, use it as a lipless crank bait?

I busted a corner off of one of my better cranks. I just filed down both edges so it's now a coffin lip. Still catches fish.
