Having seen someone shot center of mass first hand (2 separate occasions) with duty rounds in 9mm, I have very little confidence in the round being a one or two shot stop round.

You are correct, the gun that the individual has confidence in, and shoots with total control is what they should carry. A 9mm is definitely better than nothing.

While the recoil issue is not solved, the ability to carry a small auto weapon in .40 or .45 caliber is available. Kahr makes a very solid PM 40 or 45 that is plenty small enough to carry in just about any situation. I have carried my P40 covert model in shorts and a t-shirt with total concealment.

well i am gonna get me a 9mm when i DO buy a handgun. no recoil is the reason along with the fact that i can shoot it 10 times ON TARGET. with a .40 or .45 cal i wouldn't hit the target twice dead center. i would rather hit dead center 10 times than MAYBE once or twice. LOL. i love the ruger 9mm. fells nice in my hands.

I'm 90% sure that the "nail" used to repair his bone was bent on a machine that I installed. Talk about a gruesome process, hearing about how those are inserted gives me the creeps. But they make you heal quickly. Sorry for the off topic.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. You can still see the bullet fragments in his leg. They said that some of them might migrate to the surface. He couldn't walk for months.

This took place in Las Colinas TX, I don't know what hospital he went to but it was one in north Dallas I'm sure. I can find out exactly which one.
