Strike King Rocks

I just sold my lipless cranks to get Red Eye Shads. One of the ones I bought wasn't working properly, so I contacted Strike King and they sent me two of those lipless crankbaits, a hat, and a catalog, free.

Don't abuse their awesomeness. I'm just letting y'all know how great their service, not to mention their lures, are.

Well, Strike King, I was casting one of your very expensive swimbaits. When I casted, it went flying, and I reeled in my line to find that, by some fault of production, the lure untied my knot. I would like you to send me lots of lures for free. Thanks.

hehehe. Good to know though. How you like those red eye shads? I've tried a few different brands (r-trap, xcalibur, spro, etc) and I still like Rat-L-Traps the best.

today was the first i have ever caught anything on a raltrap,, it looked like a swimbait but it is a raltrap

Lol. I absolutely love the Red Eye Shads. I think the reason I like them most, is because they flutter so perfectly. When you're yo-yoing the bait and you rip it from whatever, it just flutters on down and fish HAMMER it. What a great bait for a great technique.

I agree with joolz on this one, the red eye shads are a great bait, as well as the XCalibur XR50. You can't go wrong with chrome/black, chrome/blue, or sexy shad on some of my home lakes... as for strike king, i bought a couple series 1's a couple days ago, and one will NOT run true no matter how you tune it... as for a question... Joolz, did you have to return the defectvie bait or how did that process work?

I fished a silver red eye Ratltrap about a month ago for the first time. First cast, I caught a 0.75# little guy. Second cast lost it to a tree. Haven't bought another yet.

Yes, the r-traps are great in warmer water. count them down to how deep you want, them burn 'em back to the boat. I've probably had the best luck with a floating Rat-L-Trap.

i use the lipless baits in the early spring i rarely use anything but 1/4 oz which i am pretty good with-aint dat right lizzy?-lol...

yea zooker,i gotta hand it to ya, after talkin to ya bout the 1/4 ounce i went n got me a handful, and YES it does make a dif, I start the year out with
1/4 chrome n blue, and rest of year go to 1/2 crome n black or rayburn red.
Stick with rayburn red all fall.
Big lakes I like the 1 ounce trap in white and clown colors.

i went to walmart today and got me a red eye in a color that i have bass on in a crankbait ,, im hopfully going fishing this week so ill try it

Nope, they just sent me new ones. I like the Pro-Model 1's even better than bandit 200s. Don't give up on them!

well i did have a red eye, i was fishing yesterday and when i throw got a birdsnest and it went fying ,man that wa the longest cast i have ever seen

Every time some one brings up a new lipless crank. I go out with my Pico's & show everybody whoose boss. That includes Rattle Traps. I began my collection after Harold Ensley gave my first in 1989. I find many of them on ebay. Many times all i have to do is change out the hooks & that's it. The Pico Perch slams them all.

Wow! PICO (Padre Island Bait Company) Perch! When I was a kid (age 12 -15) stationed with Dad at Fort Polk LA, there were a few basic lures which one was expected to have in one's arsenal.
They were:
H&H Spinnerbait (25 cents each at the PX. The first of the safety-pinners.)

ABU Reflex in-line spinner (Chuuby Checker must have used this as inspiration when he admonished us to "Do the TWIST!". This baby made swivels a must.)

Devil's Horse (wood body.)

Creme Pre-rigged rubber worm (Not exactly snag-proof.)

PICO Perch (or the virtually identical Bayou Boogie.)

PICO Pop (or Heddon Chugger.)

Heddon Lucky 13 ("Do I wobble it or do I pop it?"...WELL?)
I caught my VERY first LMB with one...A nice one, too!

Heddon River Runt (A lipped crankbait, of sorts.)

Arbogast Hawaiian Wiggler (A buZZZZZZbait long before there WERE buZZZZZZbaits.)

Arbogast Jitterbug (Everybody dance!)

Arbogast Hula Popper ("Look! A frog with severe birth defects!")

Dalton Special (wood body, rear prop, pretty face.)

Sidewinder Spoon (up and down, up and down, up and down.)

Anyone claiming to be a bass fisherman was deemed an imposter if he had less than ten of the above-listed Baker's Dozen on his roster.

one mans lure is another mans tackle box,,,,,,i go out some times and hunt lures ,,,l, found so good ones,, once i found one of them good red fins in a tree ,took a stick with some twim and broke it free

Nice. Speaking of finding lures, I happened to be going by someone who had literally just caught, and still had on his line, a shimano tacklebox with lots of nice stuff in it. It was closed and everything. Lucky him!

i amitt the more i mess around in bass tackle the the more i learn to look at the vintage gear..

devils horse,inline spinners,the jitter bug,the mud bug,the wiggle wart and the bayou boogie.are all examples of some of the timeless designs of fishing tackle.
