Default Just ordered my new baitcaster combo

I'm excited just got off the phone with BPS.I ordered a new baitcaster combo rod/reel. I ordered the Bass Pro Shops Extreme baitcast combo.
*left-hand retreive 5.4:1 gear ratio.Rod is Extreme XPS has 60 million modulus graphite blank .It also has the ITB inertial transfer braking.I thought for $119.98 + shipping handling and others= $137.98 that's not to bad.Well If anyone has one of these It would be great to hear from you. Thanks P.s. this is my first Baitcaster Denny

Denny I don't have any Extreme rods or reels but the recomendation of others is reason enough. Just watch out the bait monkey will soon be biting again. One baitcasting combo turns into two then into three and so on. I never thought I would be able to or enjoy baitcasters as much as i do. They are just plain fun to use.

denny,
soon after bps ships the new combo to your door, there a secret ritual
that you'll have to perform on the new setup...I'll call doctor bombay and be right over!

She sounds like a crank addict, does it take her all day to complete one task?

Default good Q

Hey Zooker.I went with the left retreive cause I'm right handed and I'm use to reeling with my left hand with the spinning outfits.Plus I get a good hook set with my right arm. Plus I can hold the b.c. and put one of my fingers on the line for contact.thanks for asking c-ya Z

is left handed too, but use rightsided handles on my baitcasters..i bet i fished for 10 years before someone pointed out to me that righthanders cast with thier right hand and switch the rod over to the left hand...I've always thrown all rods with the left and then reel with the right, but do almost everything left handed...........
well almost everything rofl

thats why i use left handed rells, i dont have to switch hands. and i just like the idea of having my strong hand on the rod to set the hook.
