Dragon fly

I've noticed that during the summer there are days when you can throw everything you have and no bits but when a Dragon fly lands on the water you see a huge blowup. I don't want to get stuck this year in a situation where I have nothing to fish so I'm going to try some Uncle Buck's Dragon Fly Soft Bait (http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...=SearchResults).

I've read that the black Dragon flies work best. Does anyone have any other ideas or favorite bait for this type of fishing?

Anyone ever see this one HOVER-LURE® King of Bass® fishing system, Looks like a POS but there does not seem to be a lot of options.

If you're trying to catch bass on "insects", I would just try to use the flies that people make for bass fishing or just flies or those little poppers you see at wal-mart.

I once found a dead dragonfly on my porch, so i hooked it and cast it. It floated for a little bit and then started to sink, but no adult bass went for it. a big school of baby bass started taking little hits at it, but eventually left it. ive never tried an artificial dragonfly, id be interested to know how effective that is though.

I caught a 2.5 lb bass once and saw dragon fly wings sticking out of its stomach. Bass are opportunistic.

My son caught a few dinks with a dragonfly fly he tied. If fact just a few hours ago he was using one on a small pond. The bass he was throwing to had go at least 8 pounds.
Fish swam away, he used 3 or 4 different flys. We are going back tomorrow

I've been doing some shows this year and haven't seen the Hover lure at all. It seemed to be a great product to me but the million dollar questions is, was it designed to last? It had some manufacturing problems with keeping it all together at least last season during the shows and the Classic...
