Can you narrow it down as to what type of fishing you will be doing ?, ponds, lakes, canals, creeks ? by boat, or on foot ?

Sorry to critique, but for a better answer, use proper English so we can understand. Such as:
"Yes, I fish for bass, in a lake, on foot, on the shore" -LL-

Well, I'm no expert, but this time of year, in Florida anyway, I think bass would be slowly starting to move up in the water column in chase of the spawn. I would look for fish on the drop-offs and use a fast-moving lure to locate them, such as a shad colored-if there are shad present-spinnerbait, crankbait, or buzzbait. After you locate a school of fish, try a worm or jig in the same color to pin-point the schooling fish. Try a texas rig, drop-shot, or PNJ(Jig with a trailer). If you don't already know how to texas-rig and carolina-rig, here is a link:
http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...ad.php?t=11719 As for where to get lures, try Wal-Mart, Bass Pro Shops, Tackle Warehouse(Online), Cabela's, etc. If you don't have any major retailers near you, try Wal-Mart or the Internet. My best of luck to you, since I don't need mine to fish, it's winter up here in Michigan... -LL-

Steven, There are a basic selection that will get you started in catching fish.
1. a Yamamoto senko, or a knockoff brand of the senko.I think the Yamamoto brand catches more fish, but I am not always correct. You will need a 3/0, or 4/0 wide gap hook. 2. spinnerbait, a 3/8 oz. double willowleaf spinnerbait.I like gold blades with a chartruese/white skirt. 3.Manns baby 1 minus.I like this crankbait alot, it will catch alot of fish. 4. 6" lizard, or worm. You can fish them weightless, or weighted, I use a 2/0 worm hook and a 1/8 oz, or 3/16 oz. weight. |

Welcome to the forum!
To answer the second part of your question, most sporting goods stores, K-Mart, Walmart, places like that.
