Headed for the Potomac
Leaving early in the morning for Indian Head, MD and the Potomac for a few days. Won't y'all try and behave in my absence? Sounds like the wind is going to kick up tomorrow and maybe Thursday, that may make things interesting - may not get on the main river until Friday, we'll be playing that by ear. 20 MPH southerly winds makes the river pretty nasty. Plenty of creeks to hide in though, and a day fishing is better than just about anything else.

Fish the grass out in front of Smallwood. Then run and find some marsh banks. Then go fish some pads. After that find a couple laydowns. Chatterbait, shallow cranks, senko, and J&P. You don't need to get out on the main river!!!

I forgot about this, sorry. We had good fishing, but to run north to find decent water. Piscattaway Cr, was very productive especially prior to the weekend when the wind blew 25 MPH, main river was nasty, particularly Thursday on the 20 mile run back to Smallwood, where we put in. Caught many keeper bass but no real hogs - my best was 4.25 on Saturday for #2 lunker which is about as good as being #2 behind NFE at a buffet. Didn't take many pics, not something I do unless it's a good fish.
Friday's catch: Sat - Doc and I only had two keepers, 2nd lunker and just one more fish would have put us in top three and we had 2 or three bass that were a hair under the 15" minimum. Dang it. Doc had the big fish of the trip, on Wed, our first day there. My scale is at the bottom of Guntersville (yes, I just replaced it) but this fish was 5+.
