Decision Time
Hello again guys, after what seems like weeks of excruciating research me and momma have decided to go the pontoon route. Just makes more sense for us being able to take others out, including grandchildren ( someday ). Please know I've never even owned a row boat so I need your expertise... narrowed it down to two boats, the Bennington 20SFi ( new boat just went into production this month ) or a G3 208F. I've included some of the specs below.
Bennington 20 SFI Pontoon dimensions are 25" x 25" Pontoon Gauge is .080 for nose cone and tubes Deck Length is 19'11" Deck Width is 8' 6" Seating: Capt. chair, 3 bass chairs ( 2 up front / 1 rear ) wrap around sofa with chaise lounger facing rear of boat & padded seat in above live well in front of captains control center. Motor: 75 hp 4 stroke G3 208F Pontoon dimensions are 23"x25" Pontoon gauge is .100 ( nose cone and tubes ) Deck Length is 20' Deck Width is 8' Seating: Capt. Seat, 4 bass seats ( 2 up, 2 back) straight bench / chaise lounger that faces forward, one padded seat above live well in front of Captains Control Center. Motor : Yamaha 90 hp 4 stroke From what I've read, the Benny may be alittle "nicer" in terms of fit and finish and Benny's rate #1 in a recent JD Powers boat study.. But I've also only read positive things about G3 boats. I don't think either would be a bad choice, guess what I'm asking you guys is which would be the best choice. Oh, as far as cost, both boats cost exactly the same thing. ( to the penny... how strange is that? ) Anyway hope some of you will find alittle time to share your knowledge with a novice... Thank you in advance for any help you throw my way.... have a nice weekend. Roland |

Benningtons a great name. I like the bigger toon dimensions on it. But I like the Yamaha 90 hp on the the G3. Max hp is always nice. I don't think you can wrong with either pontoon.
WELCOME TO THE SITE.
