Fizzing bass
Not that I don't fish deep water but I was wondering. Mainly how deep will a bass have to be caught from to be fizzed? What happens to them if you don't?

On Erie, we usually fizz a smallmouth that is coming up from about 25' or more. If we don't fizz them the fish will be swimming upside down in the livewell, and can't get it's bearings straight, and usually die. Or if it is a non keeper, and we throw it back, it won't be able to go down in the water, and it will just flop around while trying to get down.

Fizzing can also be very dangerous to the fish if you don't know what you're doing.
There are alternatives to fizzing, but I cannot attest to how well they work. BB
