I noticed you had a time and date stamp on the photos

Took 8th in the National Bass Potomac yesterday. Found quality fish hitting plastics on grass edges. Watched another river guide, who was behind us, throw topwater on the edge and not catch a thing. We went back over the area and culled up to 13lbs. Best 30 minutes on the river in a long time. Went looking for a big fish and didn't find one. 17.01 won the tournament with a bunch of 15's and 14's. Big fish was 4.7 or so. I understand a lot of bigger limits were found on Sat. Could just be dock talk though.

The main river stinks big time right now. Fished way back up Piscataway two nights this week. Had to use push pole to move around. So much grass could not run jet drive.

Fish are killing the horny toad.. Right hand wrist hurts from fishing so hard.

Where around the Potomac can you fish from the shore and actually catch fish?

The GW Parkway up between Belle Haven and Roosevelt Island on the VA side. Plenty of areas to walk along the shore line and fish. Don't know how good it is. I don't spend a lot of time up in that area of the river.

Fished the National Bass Circuit on the Potomac River again yesterday. We finished in 20th place with 11.23 lbs. Best limit was 19+ pounds. Didn't see what big fish was. Friends had a good bag with 15lbs and caught a couple on topwater over grassbeds in one of the better known MD creeks. They stated that by 9 AM all the other boats cleared out leaving them by themselves. They stayed and finished 3rd and moved into first place in the overall standings. Water temp. was 82 degrees in the creek we were fishing. It was stained from the recent thunderstorms but still had 2' visibility which is good on this river. We caught and released over 25 bass. We caught a lot in the 1.5 to 2.0 range with only a couple bigger fish. Spent a lot of time culling ounces today. Caught fish on a variety of T-rigged plastics fishing the grass edges. Shallow running LC crankbait caught one keeper that culled a little weight.

Sorry Capt. no topwater frog bites for us.

Saw your Dragon report. You didn't miss anything on the Potomac this past weekend. Fishing got really difficult and it showed in the Elite 100. Saw a lot of guys pre-fishing for the up coming Stren Series event this week. That with the National Bass and others this Sat the river is going to be crushed.
Spent some time fishing main river areas away from the crowd. Also got into a MD feeder creek which held some nice bass and I caught a striper as well. Water is very clear in the backs of the creeks and stealth is very important. Watched a 3-4 lb bass turn down two baits because it could see the boat. Visibility was 5-7' which is amazing for tidal water and the fact that it poured all day on Thursday. Water temps cooled to below 78 degrees which is a big change this time of year.
