Default Saturday Report

First fish was tough to get after 3 hours of nutin.. just nutin.
Then it was like the flood gates opened and muddy water from a feeder creek came roaring on down the main creek. Never seen that happen before. Very odd. Water temps also dropped 10 degrees. Time to move. It was two more hours till the next fish and then they turned on. A good 20 Lgmouth fell for horny toads.
I was getting worried but it all worked out..

It looks like from the sat pictures that the swamp main creek has diverted to a feeder last year in a big storm. So it is now the main creek.. But 24 hrs after the storm the mudd shows up. Still very odd.

It was clear 12 foot down clear and a wave like three creams in your coffee comes roaring down the creek. Had to follow it up to the source.

It was like that early in the day too. Tough fishing. The mud started way back in the creek where the main stem goes down to about three feet in the channel at low tide. It hadn't reached the stretch of creek where all of the wood lines the bank on the right when you're headed in. About eight feet of the grass line it was clear. I noticed it around 8ish. A literal stream of mud flowing down the center. A very definitive mud line and flowing fast. Water was really clear in much of the creek. Tide was moving out fast and was low by mid morning so the slow bite was puzzling. You had a high tide and whacked em. Usually the opposite. Water temp was 82 degrees.

Found clean water in Chickamuxen creek Sat morning. Caught a small limit. Headed to Occoquan and culled two and found clean water in the way back of one of the feeders. No mud.
Sunday found stained water on incoming tide from the main river on VA side. Only clean water on outgoing. Some tough fishing on low outgoing and incoming tide......I'd love to see some high incoming and outgoing tide!!!!
