Revo Toro Winch
Anyone know anything about a Abu-Garcia Revo Toro Winch reel? I've seen Revo Toro's and I've seen Revo Winch's. I've just never seen a Revo Toro Winch before today. I was thinking about a big ol' 61 for a catfish rod/deep trolling rod.

Never heard of them before just now. But hey, go for it. The Winch is a great reel for cranks and stuff, should work good. but I'd go look at the store before you purchase any Toro because they are a lot wider than they look in pictures.

Well, this reel weighs 11.4 oz. It is definitely not for casting all day long. It is for trolling or baitfishing.

If they were cheaper, I'd get one for musky fishing. But I guess the 11 ounce reel doesn't matter when casting 3-6oz baits on a broomstick of a rod.

Yeah...they supposedly retail for $279. I found one for $171, including shipping.

Well, I finally discovered where this guy is getting these "heretofore unknown" Abu reels from. They're new reels that are coming out in 2010 that he got from a fishing tackle trade show. It feels kind of cool to own a reel that nobody else has yet. Man is it huge for a low profile reel. It is hella wide. It holds 190 yds of 17lb mono, so I figure it would hold about 300 yds of 30lb. braid (crude guestimate). I can't wait to try for a big Striper up at Patoka with it.
