In places such as a fast moving stream... Jointed all the way. But in Lakes, I have had equal success with both... havent noticed a distict lure favoring over another...

Jointed lures work a lot better on more open water or light/scarce cover situations, they have a livelier action at slower speeds than non jointed.

I catch fish on both jointed and non-jointed. I especially like the chartreuse and white jointed Rapala (my friend and I refer to this lure as "The Green Weenie"). I got a few in different sizes. My recommendation is buy some jointed and some not jointed.

I use jointeds in the fall. They have more action. This gives a lethargic bass more to look at. It's tue it does look more real & slower at the same time.

I have alot of confidence in a jointed bait , its the River2sea V Crank Wake bait. I love this little guy , catches alot of fish for me. I start every trip with it.

I have one jointed lure in my tackle box. A three inch bass I have not used much because it has not been very productive so far. After reading this I will buy a couple more and give them a better chance.
