How dose my skirt look?
Thought you folks could have some fun with that!
Actually I was wondering if anyone uses a punch skirt as a replacement skirt on traditional jigs. Seems like they would work similar to Terminaters quick change skirts for spinning rigs. I know most people prefer hand tied and banded skirts but the simplicity of inter-changing with punch skirts as opposed to banded simply intriques me. As always...when, where, why? |

Being able to change skirts on a jig could be a good thing. It would let you try several colors without cutting off and tying on new jigs each time. You also would not need to buy as many jigs and could just stock extra skirts to get all the colors you want. The downside to that style of skirt may be how they act in some situations. With a banded or tied skirt, it seems that each strand is free to move around easier so when a jig is sittng still, the strands can still move with any current. The punch style skirts seem to lay flat when a jig is sitting still, so they might be better for swim jigs or any jig that you move quite a bit.
