Default Shelf life on old bargain rack soft plastics

Browsing through K-mart yesterday, and found another little "goodie box" of marked down Storm soft plastic wild-eye swim & jerk baits. Price tag on these were marked down to $1.99, and with a 50% off coupon, I grabbed them up for a buck a piece.

I took a look on the packaging, and some of the dates went back to '05, '04 - even '02 on the suspending swim shads.

Haven't taken them out of the bags yet, but I'm curious - do these things have a shelf life?

I have 4 large plastic storage containers full of soft plastics. Some date back to the 80's. As long as you don't leave soft baits in the sun, or in high heat areas they will be fine.

Nope, if they arent opened they should be fine.

In fact, when I go to local bait stores, I search behind all the packages in front on the racks, to the baits in the back. Alot of times these are marked down, when the baits in front of them are regular price.

I have 2 DeLong worms that I bought when I was a teenager. The worms are about 12- 15 inches long and they are as good as the day I bought them. That was back in the 60's. I've never used them but might some day.
