Rod Help..

I have a 6'6 M casting rod and i was just wondering what this rod could be used for..

Pretty much anything you want. I grew up fishing every technique i knew on 5'6" Medium rods. With the extra length you should have some better casting distances for sure. I would say you could do...

Crankbait
Spinnerbait
Topwater
Texas Rig
Shakey Head
Drop Shot
Jigs

The only things i would think would be too challenging to try with this rod is flippin or pitchin heavy cover, and carolina riggin..

Line choice will eb critical if this is your only rod... you need something that is a good all around line... i suggest 12-15lb mono...

Throw whatever feels good.
I think there is way too much attention being wasted on subtle differences in rod action!
Rods with a Moderate action are designed to bend in the top half of the blank and are meant for heavy lures and live bait.

It probably has a fast action,I would use it for a topwater rod and buzzbaits.
What is the brand of rod?
But on second thought you never really know what the action is so It could be a moderate action and in that case
it could make a good crankbait rod.
Where does the rod bend mostly at the tip area or half way in the middle?

Its a berkley, and it bends mostly toward the middle..

Its probably a fast action rod but this is just my guess because I think most berkley rods are.Use it for topwater lures and it wont let you down just remember to set the hook a second or two after the fish strikes

If you want you could use it for texas rigged soft plastics but in my opinion I stick to spinning gear for that
because the lures are really light.
