Talking Biggest Bass of '07 (pics)

Hi,

Today I got up and left for a nearby farm pond at about 6:30am. When I got there, fish were jumping like crazy all over the place. Well I thought an obvious choice was to use my trusty ole Scum Frog Popper near they were jumping. Well, two hours and ony one 4lb. bass later (which wasn't a bad fish at all) I gave up on topwater and switched to a plastic worm jigged over a large weed bed. After that I started pullin' 'em in one after the other. I had been out for 3 hours and had caught 6 bass and a snapping turtle (I hate those things). After a while without a bite I decided I'd cast one more time and go home.

I casted out and WHAM!!!, "HOLY CHIT IT'S HUGE!!!". I fought it for about a minute, which seemed like forever, and finally got it in. It was a 20in. long bucket mouth weighing in at 5lbs., so far my largest bass of the season. I don't know about where you live but, in W. Oklahoma a 5 pounder in a farm pond is pretty dog gone good.

I'm also happy to say I set him free and he swam away unharmed.

-Eric

This has nothing to do with today's trip but, I posted my biggest of '07, so why not my smallest too? The picture doesn't give it justice as to how small it was. Put it this way, you see that thing in it's mouth, thats a 2in. grub.

Right on man :-)
Always a good feeling when you catch a hawg that is your pb. Definatly one good looking fish. Biggest LM iv taken in this season was around 3lbs hard to tell on my crappy scale, im looking forward to hopefully beating my PB this year, and if its anything like the fish you got there, id be more then happy.
Congrats

Love the dink picture!!! The other one is a fine fish too. The one extra cast is always worth it... Although it is usually the "one"extra cast that makes me late getting home!
