Lived in MA for two years and fished from Amherst to Milford. Every summer I visit family and surf fish on the cape or fish the small ponds too. Find the local ponds and streams and fish from the bank. Plenty of fish in them. Most people, at least the ones I met out fishing, look down on bass and bluegill and fish for perch. Even my uncle only fishes for perch. If you can sneak on to the Quabbin it has some sweet smallmouth fishing.

Hey thanks 3d....I am up by Haverhill if you know where i am at, i do alot of the local pond and lake fishing from the shore only...i don't have a boat yet, tried to get to webster lake (Chargagoggmanchaugaggoggchuabunagungamaug) in Webster MA but there is no place but the public spot that you need to pay 25 bucks to park at so we moved on. But i can try to check out some new spots. I think the Bass are moving ATM since I am not catching much of anything at all, but hopefully it'll pickup in another week or so.

Haverhill.....nope doesn't ring a bell. Or Webster either. Sorry it's been a long time since I lived there. Still you should be able to find some nice small lakes that probably don't get any pressure. Get a small jon or something that you can easily drop in and you'll have a very good time.

I would love to get a boat like that, but unfortunately I am a stay at home father right now....my girl works during the day and is in school at night, and we don't make enough to afford daycare. so, i am stuck surfcasting for now...bleh. I wish I had a boat lol.
