Default my good deed..

i was quitly fishing in the tailrace hole on tuckertown this morning minding my own business. i was starting to work out as the 8:30am turbine crankup was aproaching. having caught 3 bass.as i was getting under the road bridge. this guy comes flying up the lake with his 18-19 foot allison hot rod bass rig. and nails the rocks guarding the entrance to the tailrace he looked to be doing 60-70mph or so. well he more or less ground to a stop. was hung up on this granite vein -think leaf in a mud puddle-i had to pull him off backwards fighting a 15 mph currant they put out when they spin the turbines.then towed him 13 miles down lake to the hwy49 launch.. ended my day as i was about out of gas. he did fillup my lil tank at the hwy 49 store. but was very insistant on giving me $50 bucks ... i just told him he was very lucky i happened to be in there.there is only about 5-8 guys who regularly go in to the tail race as this area is VERY DANGEROUS...

Zook, sometimes people just are so thankful. One time a couple of guys had their truck stuck in the lake. I hooked up my truck to theirs. Well, I was three sheets to the wind and hooked my end up to my bumper. I dropped it into gear and took off, half of my bumper that is. Unbeknowest to me his frame was over an old pipe that was part of a long gone dock. His cabin is right behind mine so the next morning he gave me $100.00 for a new bumper. I didn't want it but he wouldn't take no for an answer. My old Mercury is hard to start sometimes and there are always a few people that ask if I want a tow. I just think us fishermen are a bunch of good guys.

I don't even go that far up. Just like you said, too dangerous. Plus there's as many fish in the lower lake as there are in the upper section.
Did you find that the water in Tuckertown is "turning over" ? I've had a hard time with all the grass on top. Plus the color of the lake leaves a bad scum line. Normally we don't have that problem with Tuckertown.

I agree with you guys. I am very proud to be a part of a group of people that try to be helpful and courtious to one another. I hope throughout the years the sport continues to grow and flourish. I'll do my best to help. Lord knows I fish enough.
