I guess if you have your folks permission you're welcome. Its free to show up, but you got to figure out how to get there, where you are gonna stay, what you are gonna eat and pay for all of that.

you also will need money to help pay for gas in a boat if you go out in someone else's boat

You can stay in camping in primitive or electric for about 25 bucks a day, then include a temp Ky fishing license, gas money for the boater, depends on how much you run. Then add expense of bringing some food. You first need to find someone that will let ya fish with them in their boat. we have several lone boaters but I don't know thier agenda yet..
You may be able to swing it all for 100 bucks.

btw rodman rat, glad to hear you're joining us

Rodman, I know that flfireman was looking for a traveling companion for the trip up here. You might want to get in touch with him so you can split the gas.

Can you pitch more than one tent in a "primitive" spot? When we go camping at Oak Mountain, we just rent one spot and put up two tents. I know space is limited but $25 per day for "primitive" camping seems high.

An extra tent is $15 on one site. As opposed to $25 for your own campsite.

I have a map of Kentucky and Barkley Lake marked up with numerous spots where my brother and I caught fish 4lbs or better for a week. I'll give it to the highest bidder!!!

BTW... we were there in mid May also!

So then would it be safe to say that we should expect to find mid-spawn conditions during the middle of the month of May?

each years dif but I'm hoping thier spawn will be in april and we find some hungrey bass when we are there in May...who knows huh rofl
I just talked to Shannon at big bear to reserve a lakefront camping site, its 11 degrees there right now and their pc's are not working. Our goal is to get a big campsite so everyone can come over at night for campfires and b.s. ing and eat n drink, plus have a nice view of the lake. I'm calling back after noon to see about completing the reservations..btw its 3 here today with a forecast of -10 tonight.
